Charles R. Catalano

President of the Pharmacy Society of the State of New York and President of C&S Pharmacy Consultants
Charles is a pharmacist with nearly forty years of experience in advocacy, consultancy, and teaching roles. He worked with the New York City Department of Health to develop a plan to mobilize pharmacies in the event of a bioterrorist attack and with the State in passing legislation regarding the use of mail order pharmacies. He advocated for the passage of the Compassionate Care Act. Charles recently served as the Chairman of the Pharmacist Society of the State of New York. For the past twenty-five years, Charles has served as President of C&S Pharmacy Consultants, servicing over thirty agencies throughout the metropolitan area. He also supervises World’s Fair/Total Care Pharmacy’s Long Term Care Division, an independent community pharmacy. He was awarded Preceptor of the Year by St John’s University, and the Bowl of Hygeia Award by the American Pharmacists Association. Charles is a graduate of Queens College and the Brooklyn College of Pharmacy.

Margie Kuo

Vice President, Strategic Marketing at Adamas Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
Margie is a healthcare marketer with nearly twenty-five years of commercial and strategic leadership experience in medical education, over-the-counter products and prescription medicines. She is also an adjunct professor in the Master of Science for Integrated Marketing program at New York University. At Adamas Pharmaceuticals, Inc., she is responsible for positioning and commercializing the company’s first central nervous system medicine. She was at Pfizer Inc. for nearly twenty years, where she was the commercial lead for medicines in a range of therapeutic areas. Through her strategic healthcare consultancy, MK Insights, she has also helped other clients in therapeutic areas, including rare diseases and oncology. Margie earned her bachelor’s degree from Yale University, and an MBA in Marketing and Finance from the NYU Stern School of Business.

Lauren Handel

Partner, Handel Food Law LLC
Lauren is the principal attorney of Handel Food Law LLC where she counsels clients on regulatory compliance and all aspects of law affecting food, agricultural and alcoholic beverage businesses. She also represents clients in transactions, litigation and regulatory proceedings. She previously was a partner at McDermott Will & Emery LLP where her practice concentrated on product liability and environmental litigation, as well as workplace safety and environmental regulation. Lauren earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of Maryland, her JD from Georgetown University Law Center, and an LLM in Agricultural and Food Law at the University of Arkansas, School of Law.

Jennifer Grossman

Founder/President, Farm Co New York
Jennifer is conservation consultant with twenty-five years of strategic environmental work in both the public and private sectors. She is the Founder/President of FarmCo New York. She was Vice President for Land Acquisition of the Open Space Institute, where she oversaw a multimillion-dollar budget and preserved more than 100,000 acres of natural landscape in the State of New York. Previously, she was a Senior Attorney at the Office of General Counsel for the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. Jennifer sits on the boards of the Norcross Wildlife Foundation, the Atlantic Salmon Federation, the Watershed Agricultural Council, and is an advisor to the Glynwood Center. She earned her bachelor’s degree at Binghamton University and her J.D. at Boston University School of Law.

Neil Leibowitz, MD

Medical Director, United Healthcare
Neil is a leading healthcare executive who is regularly speaks on mental health and substance abuse issues at medical conferences and academic institutions. He currently serves as medical director of United Healthcare, focused on behavioral health. Neil was previously a partner in CMA-NY, a healthcare organization that provided medical, mental health, nursing and pharmacy services to more than 80,000 patients in the New York City correctional system. His portfolio included a broad range of financial and administrative responsibilities. Neil has also served as assistant clinical professor of psychiatry at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and as mental health inpatient director at Montefiore Hospital. He received his bachelor’s degree in economics from Johns Hopkins University, a medical degree from New York Medical College and a law degree from New York University School of Law. He is board certified in psychiatry and neurology.

Jeffrey Masonek

Partner, Plant Consulting Group
Jeff is an international business lawyer with significant experience in the cannabis industry worldwide. He currently oversees the business and legal affairs of the Plant Consulting Group. Previously, he served as General Counsel to Bedrocan International, whose parent company is a leading producer of medical cannabis and Senior VP and General Counsel to M-C McLane, a leading exporter of consumer goods. He was an Adjunct Professor of Business Law at the University of San Francisco and a member of the Advisory Board of Marketing Management, Inc., a large private label consumer goods broker. Jeff received his undergraduate degree from San Francisco State University and his law degree from Golden Gate University School of Law. He is a member of the State Bar of California.
